As per the report, the ministry has already utilized 83.39% or Rs 2.27 lakh crore of the total budgetary capital outlay of Rs 2.72 lakh crore for 2025-26 till December 31, 2025.

The ministry of road transport and highways, on Monday, said the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) monetised over 310 km of National Highways under InvIT Round-5 for Rs 6366.98 crore while realising Rs 3,087 crore from the toll-operate-transfer (TOT) Bundle-18. With bids received for TOT Bundle-19, which are under technical evaluation, NHAI is well poised to achieve the government’s budgeted target of Rs 30,000 crore for current FY 2025–26, it said.

Central infrastructure projects exceeding Rs 150 crore each have seen a Rs 5.66 lakh crore cost overrun. As of February 2026, 1,948 projects are monitored with a revised cost of Rs 41.98 lakh crore. Expenditure stands at Rs 19.71 lakh crore. Transport and Logistics leads with 1,421 projects. 9 projects were commissioned in February 2026.
